Your tour begins with pickup from your Jasper hotel at a prearranged time. After boarding a minibus, meander into the valley and admire views of mountain passes and untouched wilderness. 

Your guide provides commentary that details the flora and fauna of Jasper National Park and takes you to seasonal spots inhabited by native wildlife. With luck, observe grizzly bears, mountain goats, elk, moose, squirrels, and eagles in their natural environment.

Your tour concludes with hotel drop-off.

Your guide will personally greet you at your Jasper hotel where you will join a small group on board a comfortable minibus. As you meander slowly down the valley, you will gaze out large windows while passing stunning scenic views of the mountains and surrounding wilderness. You will visit seasonal locations, selected daily by your guide allowing you the best chances of seeing wildlife in its natural habitat. The evening is an ideal time for wildlife viewing with animals being most active in the late afternoon to dusk, so be sure to keep an eagle eye for anything that moves. Capture your memories through photographs from either inside the minibus or occasionally by a short walk at the discretion of your guide. Along the way you will discover valuable insights into the challenges of managing and protecting wildlife within the National Park. Your professional local guide will be eager to answer your questions, as they passionately share the magic of Jasper's wild side, bringing the stories of the animals to life. 95% of tours are successful at spotting wildlife. However, while encounters are frequent, everyday is unique. Jasper National Park is a natural environment and wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed. The tour will finish with complimentary drop-off back at your accommodation.

Fantastic trip well worth the money. We saw at least 4 separate sighting of black bears, just missed a moose who was heading down hill. An osprey eating a fish, a stag and a white tailed deer. Our guide was really informative and knowledgeable and great at positioning us for the best view.

Great views of a variety of wildlife. Ground squirrels, ospreys, bald eagle, large bull elk, and momma bear with 2 cubs. Great views of mountains and landscape. Guide was very knowledgeable and a pleasure to listen to. Only complaint is weather. This is not controllable by you which is why it didn't impact my rating.

Great to be out and about in places I would never go. Animals not cooperative about showing up but what can you do? Would like if the driver would treat the customers as if they are new to Jasper and know nothing about Jasper or the animals we might see . I would like to have learned a bit more about the city, the mountains, the geology, the trees, etc. we got some info from the driver but the content was pretty thin. My granddaughter thought the tour was worthwhile.

Good way to spend the evening without a lot of activity. Seeing the wildlife and a mama bear with her triplets was the best experience of the whole trip besides seeing eagles, deer and elks.

A very good evening wildlife tour in Jasper

This tour led by Jamie took us to places most likely to yield sightings of wildlife. We saw herds of elk, a solitary buck with impressive antlers, a mule deer and a bald eagle's nest at Medicine lake. The star sighting was a mother black bear with three recently born cubs, one of them a gorgeous cinnamon colour. Then we spotted a huge male black bear, possibly the father ambling along and crossing the road behind us. Although the routes taken were not out of the ordinary and we had already driven some of them in our own car, it was very nice to be driven so that we could focus on the wildlife sightings. Altogether a very worthwhile 2 hours spent.

Jake our Tour guide was very knowledgeable of the area and the animals. He made the tour safe and fun. The variety of animals and birds we saw was amazing, but the icing on the top for us was seeing the Bald Eagles and some Black Bears.

Although we did see a bear, a huge elk, a few mule deer and a Marmot, I would ONLY recommend this to people who have limited time, don't want to drive around or hike and explore on their own. This is an extremely passive experience in a sightseeing bus for 3 1/2 hours on main roads and public parking areas. I had assumed they would take us in off-road, restricted areas...not drive the main highways. As a family of four, we saw plenty of wildlife on our own just from exploring and hiking. 3 1/2 hours was a very long time for an active family that doesn't usually look for too many passive activities on an amazing vacation like the Canadian Rockies

The tour is advertised as a bus-based tour and according to Parks Canada legislation, we do need to stay on registered roads (off-roading is not permitted within the National Park). The route of the tour is chosen daily at the discretion of our guide to increase your chance of finding animals and is usually a mix of main roads and smaller roads. The guides also provide interesting commentary along the way. It’s unfortunate that you didn’t enjoy the length of time on the bus but we are happy to hear you spotted quite a few different animals on the tour. I am really happy that I signed up for the Evening Wildlife Tour. It was a small group of about 15 people, all ages, in a van. It rained so Ross, our guide, altered his route to ensure we'd see plenty of wildlife. We spent about 15 minutes with a black bear, who was merrily chomping on dandelions. I expected to take photos but never thought I'd have the opportunity to take videos, too. We were equally as close for a long time to a gigantic male elk. We saw loons and a mother elk with a week-old baby. Ross was a wealth of information: it was the perfect combination of education and seeing wildlife in their habitat. I strongly recommend others to take this tour.

Jamie, the driver and guide, shared his knowledge and chose places well. There is always a certain amount of luck with wildlife and we were lucky to see several bears, elk and other animals. The tour was relaxed, friendly and very enjoyable. Well worth doing.
