The Metropolitan Museum of Art, better known simply as The Met, is the largest art museum in the United States and among the most-visited art museums in the world. The Met was founded in 1870 by a group of American citizens — businessmen and financiers as well as leading artists and thinkers of the day — who wanted to create a museum to bring art and art education to the American people. The museum presents dozens of exhibits each year as well as thousands of events and programs including films, talks, performances, guided tours and family activities.

This Metropolitan Museum of Art ticket introduces an abundance of art in 17 curatorial departments. There are splendors of ancient Egypt, plus armor and weapons of sculptural and ornamental beauty from Europe, the Middle East, Asia and America. Look for European paintings, sculptures, drawings and prints and more than 20,000 photographs acquired by the museum over the past 80 years.

And if that weren’t enough, this ticket also includes admission to The Met Cloisters and The Met Breuer.

Coming back from Europe I was not much impressed with this one. Entrance is a bit chaotic. If you are ok with reproductions you may give a better review.

Loved the museum, especially the european art, the guest dispays( the musical instruments of icons) . Great variety of artifacts to see and different sections to cover all interests. On the negative side found the majority of staff rude, brusque and generally unpleasant. The odd person was very helpful and pleasant but they were in minority. The roof garden /bar could do with more seating but views were amazing.

Very educational and massive collection

It was great not to have to stand in line to buy admission tickets. We had our confirmation and went to Prepaid Adminssion Desk right in the lobby. I did not, however, get a ticket for a $10 discount at MET Store. The collection is massive and confusing. It is a MUST that you pick up the Map. It is so confusng as it goes from different floors, different sections, different locations - it is hard to get where you want to go. My recommendation would be that a MAP be mailed to you at time of purchase so it can be studied. Purchasing tickets and getting into the MET was easy and fast. I highly recommend it.

Museum is Stunning, However...............

The museum itself is beautiful and the art amazing. However, I wish I could say the same for the staff. This was my first time to the met. It's huge and a bit overwhelming. The check-in process (I had pre-purchased my ticket) was like herding cattle. If I asked a question of an employee within the museum to point me in a direction, they looked at me like I had a nerve asking them anything. The staff left me not really wanting to return.

Wonderful trip. Our ticket was valid for 3 consecutive days and included access toet Brusr and Met Cloisters. We spent 2 full days at the Met and managed to fit in 5 one hour guided tours in the 2 days. Each guide was extremely knowledgeable and full of passion for their subject matter. Fantastic.
