One of the best street food tours I have experienced! Our guide Heimata was the perfect blend of professional, personable and ethical. He curated an excellent tour through Moorea's best-kept food secrets... from chow mein sandwiches and barbecue beef hearts to locally-produced rum and fresh passion fruit sorbet. During your visit to Tahiti, I definitely recommend this tour as a way to learn about Moorean food, support mom-and-pop businesses, and see the island with the excellent company of a passionate community leader.

Heimata (hey-mata) our guide shared the love of his home of Moorea and the culinary scene on the island. He graduated from a US university and a culinary school in Hawai'i. He presented from both sides of understanding Moorea's food and culture. Stops were well planned and provided ample tasting of local foods and tasty adult beverages.
Commentary was not scripted and provided thorough and knowledgeable culinary answers.
Recommend this tour if there is only one day on Moorea.

The food tour was an absolute highlight from our honeymoon to Moorea! Heimata is an absolute Rockstar! He is so incredibly knowledgeable about the local cuisine and helped us experience a side of the island and culture we would not have learned about just from staying at the resorts. His great sense of humor and encouraging attitude made the trip so much fun. My wife even ended up dancing some Tahitian in one of the restaurants. He helped encourage everyone to try new foods but was never judgmental if someone didn't like something (he even got my picky wife to try fish)! What I most appreciated was that he works with all local vendors and switches the foods up based on what is available and in season. Seriously we can't say enough positive things about Heimata and this tour!!

Get outside the tourist food and experience local food with a professional chef! Chef Heimata’s knowledge, experience. And passion come through as you explore and taste your way across the island. Be as daring as you wish, I encourage you to try everything and enjoy! Thank you for a memorable experience and all the tips. We went back to Cafe Moz, Allo Pizza and the roadside coolers without signage, criminally under sold due to the ignorance of the tourists. Amazing experience and highly recommend travelers take advantage while this is offered!
Awesome Mo’orea Food Tour

On my first day in Mo’orea I booked this awesome food tour. I literally got off the ferry & within 45 minutes started the tour. Communication beforehand was excellent with the flexibility to be picked up & dropped off at my Airbnb so I could leave my rental car & luggage at the Airbnb.
Heimata, our guide, did the tour in both French & English to accommodate the two couples & myself. He speaks 3 languages fluently so it was truly impressive to hear him do the tour in both French and English. The tour not only included generous yummy samples of local Mo’orea food but a lot of really good information about the local lifestyle, history & culture. In between tastings Heimata would point out places to eat & visit which made navigating the Island a lot easier after the tour. Definitely put this tour at the top of your list upon arrival in Mo’orea it was an awesome experience!

I cannot say enough great things about this tour. If you are in Moorea I highly recommend you take this tour a day or two after you get on island. All of the information you learn and places you visit will make the remainder of your stay on Morrea that much better.
For those worried about Covid please don't, they take the upmost precautions to include masks and hand sanitizer after every stop.
Speaking of stops we had three that all tied for first place. We loved the fresh tuna, beget with noodles (carb on carb can't be beat) and of course all the fresh fruit.
A special shout out to Hinatea, she made us all feel like family.

This was a great escape from the crowds of the cruise ship! We were picked up dockside by a small van. Only 2 of us from the ship and we were joined by another 2 couples from nearby resorts. Heimata, our tour guide/driver, also a chef, did a fantastic job informing us about the island of Moorea as we drove around the island making our several stops to enjoy the food of the locals. As we ate, we learned about the cultures that arrived at the island, influencing its' food. "YUM!", says it all and was able to take some great pictures of the island to boot!

My sisters and I had a wonderful time, it was so much fun trying foods and going to out of the way places that we would have never known about. It almost felt at times like it was too much food, but Heimata did a great job spacing destinations out and did not seemed rushed at all. Thanks so much, this is a tour i like to do on all my trips.
