Savor a selection of succulent dishes during a traditional hangi feast, with foods cooked underground in an earthen oven. Your dinner includes New Zealand meats and poultry along with vegetables and fresh salads. Top off your meal with buffet-style desserts. Drinks are available for purchase from the full bar.

Not worth money
, Jun 2022
Not really worth the money. The food is below average. ONLY less half the food was cooked in the traditional style. The table and utensils are not clean. It felt very tourisy and not authentic.

I loved the whole experience and would definitely recommend. Jason who lead the tour was amazing and had a great sense of humour. He was really informative and encouraged questions throughout. Everyone was great though not just him. I came away learning a lot about Maori culture and the food was incredible!!! A must do whilst in Rotorua.

What an exciting evening! We got to see our superb supper cooking in the ground, and then enjoy it, watch a Maori Tribe show explaining their culture, walk through the woods and see the glow worms in their natural habitat. What a glorious, enjoyable day.
Very Full Exciting Day

Can you say exciting?? From the geothermal area and geysers to Maori Tribe show to Kiwis to Redwoods to Government Gardens to black swans? A well worth trip. Everything thing becomes your favorite stop!
Highlight was question time and of course the food
, Mar 2020
We had a wonderful time at the Mitai Village experience. It was very friendly and welcoming. Question time was my favorite, it gave everyone a chance to ask what they wanted to know about Maori culture and the MC answered the Questions beautifully. The food was delicious.
The warriors
, Mar 2020
Very welcoming and inclusive. A great introduction to Maori history and culture. The walk through the bush and the recreated village felt completely authentic. The arrival of the warriors by canoe was very exciting. The food was great and there was plenty of it, but was completed western, so would have welcomed the opportunity to at least try something traditional.

Mitai Magic
, Mar 2020
Great show. Very amusing host with good banter. Very informative about Maori culture and awesome Hangi. Recommend this event to anyone visiting NZ.
The dancing and singing
, Mar 2020
We both enjoyed the experience. The only criticism was we weren't given any time frame after arriving to have our drinks finished by. Also, the same at the end of the meal before we started the final walk.
Our Maori experience
, Mar 2020
Our traditional Maori experience was truly unique. We gained knowledge of both culture and food both visually and through the insight and history portrayed through our guide throughout the evening. Also, with the numbers involved, we were impressed with the co-ordination and organisation of the whole event. John & Mary Nelson Bay NSW
Maori Cultural Expernience second to none

This Maori cultural experience is well worth a visit. The commentary, show and dinner were outstanding and I would highly recommend it. This experience was recommended to us by friends who live Rotorua. It is a full evening of awesome entertainment and wonderful hangi food.

Very authentic, enjoyable and educational. Well organised. The food was plenty and everyone was accommodative and truly cared about our experience. There were a lot of tourists however it still felt intimate and authentic.
